Considering the impact parents have on their children’s life, many scholars hold them responsible for the children’s unruly behavior, and even suggest to punish them. However, I think this notion is totally unjustified as it ignores other prominent factors.

First of all, mostly the bad influence on young children is not the result of parents’ upbringing. If one looks at the value system in a family, usually all parents imbibe the best moral values in their children. Even the parents who are not affluent enough, they also try their best to get the best possible education for their children. This can be seen by the large number of students in convent schools in India as parents here know the significance of quality education and discipline. Hence, blaming parents for bad behavior of youngsters is not the right approach.

In addition to that, real culprit for indiscipline among children is the society and social media. Since nowadays children spend their maximum time in school, playgrounds or tuitions, parents do not find enough time to interact with them. Moreover, a lot of wrong habits, that children have, are given by social media. Being less tech savvy to understand the world of Snapchat or Instagram, parents fail to undo the damage done by these applications. Therefore, as far as checking the behavior of young children is concerned, parents do not have much influence in the current time.

To conclude, every parent tries his best to inculcate good values but it is very difficult to keep an eye on children in the modern social structure. So, it is not viable to blame parents for their children’s rude behavior.
