With the  evolution of complex machines, automation of tough tasks is on a rise. Though this trend has a drawback of making people lazy, there are  benefits such as convenience and safety which make this  development relatively more advantageous.

Due to advancement in complexity of machines, it is possible to automate many tough tasks. Though there are both  merits and demerits of this trend, benefits  easily overshadow/overwhelm drawbacks.

To start with advantages, the most prominent one is convenience. When people have robots at their disposal to do tedious works, it is possible for them to live  a comfortable life. For instance, labor intensive jobs like construction of buildings, roads and railways, now do not take months  of efforts which was the  case earlier with  simple machines. Moreover, kitchen and laundry are comparatively/relatively easier to manage with new sophisticated appliances. Therefore, the  element of inconvenience has  reduced to a large extent due to automation.

Along with being convenient, automation is also comparatively safer. Since machines can do redundant and boring tasks, that multiple times, without losing any concentration level like humans do due to fatigue, they are  certainly  a better option for repetitive and sensitive  tasks. Many medical procedures and safety checks are handed over to sophisticated machineries by developed nations, keeping likelihood of  human  error in mind. Hence, automation is the integral part in security protocols for the upcoming future.

However, this  does  not mean automation is without concerns. The biggest issue is definitely a dramatic change in human attitude  towards work. Without doubt, it  is visible throughout world that as the automation grows, in the same proportion there is a surge in passivity. In the most automated nations like the USA, people are at a higher  level of sedentary life style. This, in turn, leads to diseases like obesity. Thus, automation has a serious drawback of pulling people away from an active lifestyle.

To conclude, automation is certainly a boon for mankind as it brings comfort and security in people’s life. Still, excess dependence on this usually  leads to a laidback attitude which  is  surely detrimental to  physical well-being.
